The LearnQuiet classroom noise monitor device

The device

Built and tested by hand

Every unit is engineered, assembled, and field-tested by our founder before it reaches a classroom — designed to be simple enough for any teacher to set up in minutes.

Positive reinforcement

Rewards, not punishment

Our energy-efficient device rewards students for keeping classroom noise levels low, fostering a calm and focused learning environment.

Low power

Runs all day, quietly

The device operates using minimal power while continuously monitoring classroom noise, providing positive reinforcement for a better learning environment.

Officially patent pending

We've officially received our patent pending status for the underlying design.

Why this design

How the lights work

Adjustable threshold

At the beginning of class, the teacher sets a threshold for how loud students are allowed to be, using the indicator light as a reference. If the threshold is exceeded, one light goes out — a quiet signal that the class is being too loud.

The lights

The lights represent how many opportunities the class has left to remain quiet. Each time a light turns off, there's a short delay for the class to regroup and lower the noise level.

Adding lights back

If a stray noise triggers the device that wasn't caused by the class, or if the teacher wants to restore lights, there's an "add lights" button on the front.
